I picked up the guitar at 12 and never really put it down. Early lessons with Steve Plotkin shaped my technique and instilled a love for the art form that has stayed with me to this day. Playing music with others has been a cornerstone of my journey — my first band was at 15, and I’ve been collaborating and performing ever since.

After earning a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Music Technology from NYU in 1993, I returned home and continued growing as a musician and became chief audio engineer at SI Studios. Over the years, I’ve played in several bands, including jugdish, Jigsaw Johnny, and Big King Moose, a three-piece classic rock band. I also perform in Dallas Carter, a country band, and occasional duos with my friend Tom Flannery.

Teaching guitar became a natural extension of my love for music. Drawing from my past instruction experience, I strive to make every session fun, engaging, and meaningful. Students learn songs they love while building solid technique and understanding the “why” behind the music. I teach players of all levels, and currently serve as an instructor at Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) in the Music Recording Technology program, which allows me to combine real-world experience with structured instruction.

In 2018, I was honored with the Steamtown Music Awards’ Music Industry Professional Lifetime Achievement Award, a recognition of my years playing, recording, and teaching in the region. Music has been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to share it with students and audiences alike.
